The cmoset.comET Meeting is a research and business event for those who want to discuss and find out about new exciting high tech opportunities. It is a place where electronics meet physics, biology and chemistry. The format of the talks resembles in-depth tutorials describing state-of-the-art technology and future research directions, rather than presenting specific research results or commercial products.
The 8th annual meeting will be held at Whistler, a site of the 2010 Winter Olympics, with numerous opportunities for personal exploration of surrounding tourist attractions. All speakers are invited by a program committee and the number of attendees is limited.
No formal proceedings will be printed, but attendees will receive PDF copies of all presentation material. Selected and expanded workshop papers are edited as books. The most recent of these is
cmoset.comBiomicrosystems: Where Electronics Meet Biology, available from Wiley in June 2011.
Please see our Books page for a complete list of books available for purchase.
To get a feel for the meeting, have a look at the previous events held in Banff, Whistler and Vancouver. You can also download copies of most of the presentations from previous conferences on our Past Presentations page.

CMC/UBC Silicon Nanophotonics Fabrication Course
In partnership with CMC Microsystems, the University of British Columbia is providing an opportunity for training in the design, fabrication and test of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) targeting IMEC's silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. This training can be integrated with your research or as a stand-alone learning opportunity. Target applications include Optical Communications and Sensors.
One option for this training is a one-week workshop in Vancouver from, immediately before the photonics session of the cmoset.comET Meeting on June 16. Transportation will be available (round-trip bus-fare of $100, or by car-pooling with local attendees/instructors) for students in the Nanophotonics Fabrication course who are interested in attending the cmoset.comET photonics session in Whistler. For more information, please see the Silicon Nanophotonics Fabrication Course website.
